NePALA offers both Individual and Affiliate membership. Each country literacy association is an automatic affiliate member.

Individual Membership

For educators, researchers, and literacy advocates.

Affiliate Membership

For national literacy associations (Automatic for country associations).

  • Single bloc vote at the General Assembly
  • Right to host PALFA Conferences
  • Global recognition and partnership
  • Capacity building for your organization

Election and Voting

  • Every registered affiliate is entitled to a single bloc vote at the General Assembly.
  • The vote of each Affiliate shall be cast by the Chairperson or designated delegate.
  • Simple majority votes are sufficient for election and ratification of decisions.

Affiliates in Good Standing

All national affiliates shall be deemed to be in good standing if:

  • The Affiliate presents an annual activity plan to the Executive Committee.
  • The Affiliate has a defined succession plan (no single person/group in power for more than 4 years).
